When it comes to the Stan Smith there is no questioning the popularity and overall impact the model has had since it was first released by adidas in 1965. Getting given the treatment by a slew of collaborators over the last decade has meant a number of make-ups of the Stan Smith have been available, with varying degrees of impact.
The Stan Smith Mid though, hasn’t born the brunt of attention like its lower cut sibling, leaving room for some killer variations on the collaboration front.
This joint effort, named ‘Raw Dogs’ sees OG New York based street-wear brand 10.Deep sprinkle some of their style on the Stan Smith Mid to produce a version worthy of both brand’s combined heritage. The name plays off the rawhide laces and graphical monster mouth sock-liner while taking inspiration from the ongoing series of sticker attack tees from 10.Deep.
The upper is constructed from a premium suede in a muted Iron and Chrome colourway that reflects the 10.Deep motto – ‚forget everyone and listen to yourself‘ – a motto that is reflected in further features including an embroidered 10.Deep and adidas tongue tag and an oversized embossed 10.Deep logo on the medial side of each upper.
Finished with an embossed combination 10.Deep and Trefoil logo on the heel-tab, the minimal, well thought out branding is the ideal accompaniment to the matching design aesthetic of the Stan Smith.
