While Michael Jordan never played in the Air Jordan IX on court, its release represents a special time in MJ’s storied career.  MJ stepped away from the game of basketball to pursue his love of baseball, and Nike celebrated his quest by continuing the Air Jordan franchise. To pay homage to MJ’s past, the Air Jordan IX was the first in the line to be released in his North Carolina team colors, now is the first time since its original release in 1993 that this classic colorway will be made available.
