The year 2001 marked the start of two unparalleled and unique concepts for success: In times of outdated trade show formats, adidas Originals invited 30 top retailers to a workshop in a former tank hall at the adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach – among the guests was Karl-Heinz Müller, owner of 14 oz in Cologne at that time. Inspired by the atmosphere of the historic hall, the delicious food, the great music and the interesting discussions with industry professionals, he had a vision the following night: a platform with the right guests, the right brands and the right basics. BREAD & BUTTER as the new trade show format for contemporary, urban street wear was born. Based on this, an extraordinary and close partnership has developed between the two key players BREAD & BUTTER and adidas Originals over the last ten years.
To mark the occasion of the 10th anniversary of BREAD & BUTTER, adidas Originals has created a special gift: a limited special edition of the iconic adidas Originals Decade Hi from 1985, exclusively designed for the BREAD & BUTTER trade show. The sneaker was designed in the typical Berlin colours, supplemented with the distinctive B&B logo and an X representing the 10-year anniversary. A hangtag with the historic date and the inscription “ONE DECADE from adidas WITH LOVE” round off this special sneaker limited to 500 pairs. Without any doubt, this shoe will excite basketball nostalgics and sneaker fans alike.
